USUALLY I DON'T LEAVE THE DESCRIPTION HERE, I USE DEVIANTART AS A MIRROR OF THE WORK ON MY SITE (WWW.ATLANTIO.COM), HOWEVER, THE CONCEPT IS IMPORTANT TO THIS SERIES SO I WILL PASTE IT HERE TOO AS I REALISE IT'S A PAIN TO CLICK MY LINKS TO READ THE DESCRIPTION SOMETIMES...
Callous and / or romantic words that the wind of time sweeps into the present leaves a sting that meaningless and hollow actions are guilty for. Give whatever meaning you wish to this piece; mine came to me as I climbed into bed on the 19th August when these words appeared in my thoughts: "Words only matter if they are followed by actions. Until you can do this keep your mouth shut so I can cease to be amongst the walking wounded." Claire and Anita at work suggested Milbay Docks... a rundown area of Plymouth which could also be called its 'red light' district. I checked it out after work and Rob and I headed there, parked, walked around, stopped a good few metres away from a 'lady of the night' and cut up some duct-tape, put it on Rob and took photos in various locations, dodging the odd drunkard / druggie and curious chav. Was quite fun actually, and just to think that crossing the road was perfect etiquette to avoid being asked if we were looking for business! Any regret from this photo shoot? Yup. Sadly the ISO was set at 500, I forgot to down it to 200 before starting so the originals bleed a little. It's not too bad or noticeable really, but it is for someone like me who takes perfectionism to a silly extreme on the odd occasion! I think it's an issue because clarity in a shot means I am not distracted by artefacts that will stop me from appreciating the sentiment of the shot... yeah... there's that one explained! The above comment will go with all the shots from this series... "Old Words Reign" is the main shot to represent my words, feelings and sentiment, though others from the shoot were too good not to use, so I will also be uploading those... any individual shot comments will go here: [link] |
